Life's adventures

Time seems to always get past me. I never seem to have find the time to update this blog. So it is Sunday afternoon and Austin and Andrew are both taking a nap. I figured it was time I updated you on our comings and going, which are not much.

My little boy (no so little any more) he loving to play trains and to be a train himself. He loves to go out in the snow and pretend to be a train's engine and make tracks in the snow. It does not take the expensive toys to make this little boy happy.

There is not much to up date you on, but Halloween came and went. Austin was an astronaut for Halloween (thanks to Aunt Debbie who had the costume and saved me some money). Sorry to any family members we missed. By the time we got to Grams and Papa's house Austin was sound asleep so we decided to just bring him home and let him sleep. He did go out the the neighbor girls later the night and came home with a bunch of candy, which most of it is still in the candy bowl.

Thanksgiving we had our big feast with Andrew's sister and some of her married children. It was very quiet.

Now as we have been preparing for the Christmas season it has been fun to watch Austin finally grasp the concept. He has been so excited. He has helped Aunt Debbie, Grams, and Grandma Barker decorate their trees and of course we cannot forgot our very own tree that has be decorated and then things moved how many times I do not know. The excitement in his face as one more decoration is put out or as he drives by and sees all the Christmas lights. To see the Joy in a child's face. It has been fun and exciting. I hope that through this Christmas time that we are able to convey to Austin the True Meaning of Christmas. May you all have a hopeful and joyful HOLIDAY SEASON!

Summer is now gone

Wow!!! Our summer just flew by. We went to teh zoo several times and enjoyed just being able to play outside. In August Austin turned four. Our little boy is growing up fast. He was so excited for his birthday. We had a power outage just as we were starting his little birthday party. So needless to say it did not faze Austin. He was having the time of his life. As he opened gifts and had to give hugs he was having so much fun that he just hugged anyone and everyone. He is a great blessing in our lives and we so gratiful to our Heavenly Father every day for sending him to our home. We are still hoping that one day SOONER than LATER that the Lord will once again bless us. We have had some prospects, but they have not materialized as of yet. We just keep praying and keep holding onto our faith.

Over Labor Day we went to Flaming Gorge and camped and some of the men went fishing and some went cliff jumping. As for me, I do not jump from heights, so I just sat and watched. Austin played near the water. He made boats out of sticks and would float them in the water and then go get them. He was have the time of his life. Sometimes I think that we as parents think that the children are happier if they have the greatest and the biggest toy, but if we just spend time with them and let them explore the world with thier imagination then they will remember those moments longer than the expensive toy.

Austin started preschool in September. He has been so excited everyday all summer long he kept asking when preschool was going to start. He loves to go. On Tuesday he had what they call the VIP bag and in this he got to take five things that were special to him and then he would his class about them (not without some coaxing from his teachers). I do not know how many times he filled and emptied this bag when trying to decide what to take. Now of course his puppy went with him and also one of his trains, a book as he loves to sit and read or be read to, a picture of Saddie his dog, and his favorite movie Herbie Fully Loaded. He now asks everyday if he can go to preschool today, boy my little boy is growing up like a flash.

Still Searching

We are a happy family of three who are still searching to add to their family. Andrew and I are still busy chasing our active 3.5 almost 4 year old. We have a pass to the zoo so Austin can learn all about animals, but of course his favorite part is the train. He loves trains. Austin is enrolled in camp champ, which give him a chance to learn tee-ball, basketball, and soccer. It also keeps one of us in shape as we must chase the balls as he learns a new skill. We love being a little family and hope to someday increase that family.

There are many things that we have planned for this summer such as family reunions, camp outs, and just plain having fun. Andrew and Austin have slept out on the front porch, which lasted only until 1:30 am, but Austin thought that was the coolest thing ever.

Just an update on our family. Andrew is busy with work and making sure that one of the Lord's Temple is just as beautiful on the outside as it is on the inside. He has spent many hours with youth groups as they came to do some service. He loves working and being a hardworker is one of the qualities among many others that attracted me to my sweetheart. He goes to work every day and then he comes home and makes sure all the animals are feed and of course Austin is right along side him. I loved watching Austin and Andrew making a sandbox together. It is Austin's favorite thing and if you ask where he got the sandbox he will tell you that his daddy made it for him.

I am (Marti) busy teaching 8 year old boys how to be good cub scouts. I still work as medical transcriptionist and loving being home with Austin. I love scrapbooking and getting into this digital scrapbooking, which I thought I would never do. I have taken Austin to the Zoo a couple of times and he has loved it, but as mentioned before the best part of the zoo is the train ride. When I get a chance I love to sit down and read a good book, but that is far and few between when you are trying to keep a house clean, play with a very active 3.5 year old, and working.

Austin is a very active 3.5 almost 4 year old who loves to run, play in his sandbox HIS DADDY made for him. He loves to cut, color, paste, and paint. He loves to play with his cousins in the sandbox or go to the park and run around. There are days I wished I had just half of his energy. He is looking forward to going to preschool this fall. He asks me everyday if it is time for him to go to preschool. He is a smart little boy who love life and loves animals and loves just being a boy. We love him and hope one day to spread that love to another little child.

Its all about love!

Hello
We are Andrew and Marti and of course we cannot forget our beautiful boy Austin. Let us tell you a little about ourselves and how adoption has touched our lives. Many years ago we went through infertility and then my husband had a health problem that prevented us from becoming pregnant. After much pray and we knew that adoption was the means by which our hope and dreams of having a family would come to past.
After many years of waiting and having one fall through the Lord saw fit to have Austin placed in our home. We got the call and then three hours later we were at the hospital to pick up our little boy. Now Austion is 3 years old and is full of life and loves to play outside and run and run and run. Mom sometimes struggles to just keep up. To be called mommy and daddy is a dream come true. I will always be eternally grateful to Austin's birthmom for giving us the chance to be his parents and to love him.

Now we are waiting for another precious soul to enter our home and become part of our family. For this reason this blog has been created. I would like to tell you about our little family.

Lets begin with Andrew: Andrew loves to fish, hike, work on the farm that we live on, play outside with Austin. Andrew has a bachelors degree in Technical Sales with an emphasis in business and botony. He now is a gardener and has always enjoyed watching living things grow. He also loves to go for long drives and camping. Andrew is a very honest person who would do anything for anybody. I love my husband and am gratiful for the respect and love that he shows me. I love to watch him play with Austin and see the bond they have. I know Andrew is a great father and he will make a great father to another little one.

Now there is Marti: Marti loves to scrapbook, read, hike, camp, water sports, and anything to do with Austin. She has her associates degree and she has a certificate in medical transcription and at the present time works from home as a medical transcriptions. This allows her to be home and take care of Austin. Marti plans on being a stay at home mother when another child is placed in our home. She loves being a mother and loves watching Austin grow and develop. She loves to be on the go and now Austin loves to go too.

Now lets tell you a little bit more about Austin. Austin was placed in our arms in August of 2005. He was just beautiful. We never dreamed how wonderful it would be to have a little one in our arms. Now going from just two to three was a change that we will never forget. Now from sleeping through the night to being sleep deprived. Luckily they grow out of that phase, but what precious moments those were. Andrew and I had to fight over whose turn it was to get up because we both wanted to just sit and watch as he drank is bottle, but now those quiet times are gone and we are into the running everywhere phase and nonstop talking. To hear the words mommy and daddy are very precious. Austin loves music. He will sit for hours and play the piano (or bang on the piano), but he is working on his technique of having the finger spread and sitting upright. He is very observant and wants to do everything himself. He is Mr. Independent.

I hope that this gives a better feel of who we are and that we have more love to give. From our hearts to yours.
